I had the pleasure of working with Cody on Decent Sleep’s latest EP. His ability to clearly communicate his vision while also being open to feedback and potential changes that might improve the project, made it a very smooth, enjoyable experience. We had one day in the studio to do all of the basic tracking for 5-6 songs, which is a daunting task. Cody was ready and rehearsed and made what could have been a tough experience a fast and efficient one. This carried over to mixing as well, and we were able to get to a point where we were both happy with the outcome relatively quickly. His mix notes were clear and understandable from a technical standpoint, as well as a creative one. Anybody who has the chance to work with Cody in a creative capacity will have a wonderful experience.

I loved working with Cody! He wrote four amazing songs (lyrics and music) for our company. He is incredibly creative, talented and collaborative. He came up with lots of cool ideas to start from, was able to hear feedback and revise accordingly, and then turned in 4 songs that are just what we wanted. On time! And the best part is that he’s so fun and easy to work with. I would love to work with Cody again (and plan to) and highly recommend him for any kind of creative, collaborate work you have.

“Cody is an exceptional, fun teacher.  He gave our daughter private singing lessons which became the highlight of our week!  Cody could take any song our daughter was currently listening to and turn it into a musical learning experience.  With Cody's great teaching, our daughter was accepted into her middle school concert choir and shortly after that was accepted into the Oregon Music Education Association's state choir.”

“The energy and enthusiasm he brings to our daughter's school is one-of-a kind. His love for music is infectious as seen in the kid's excitement for music class and the assemblies. We are so grateful to have Cody in our community. Cody rocks!”

“It was a bit of a leap of faith when I signed up with two friends for ukulele lessons with Cody early on in the pandemic. I had never studied a string instrument, and had not studied any instrument in close to 40 years. And we were learning via Zoom. Somehow, despite all of that, Cody has managed to magically transform every lesson into a joyful learning experience. His knowledge of his craft, personal touch, enthusiasm, and great sense of humor have kept me fully engaged and wanting to learn more. Although he comes to class prepared to teach us specific skills, Cody seamlessly adjusts his lesson plans where appropriate to meet us where we are, without losing his focus. I cannot recommend music lessons with Cody highly enough. He is a joy to work with and an outstanding teacher.”

“I’ve found Cody’s enthusiasm and flexibility extremely valuable in my music journey. Cody knows when to challenge me for improving a song I’m working on and when to encourage me to move on to new material so I keep developing as a guitar player. As a busy professional, I very much appreciate his flexibility in scheduling and his understanding when work intrudes on music. Cody’s appetite for music is fun and motivating.

“When Cody walked into our 1st grade classroom, he lit up the room and inspired the kids with his energy, enthusiasm and creative lesson plans. The positivity created in his music classes, his humor, encouragement and connection to kids, continued throughout the school year and the kids absolutely loved his classes. Cody also taught guitar lessons to my 6th grade daughter and wow did she fly in her skills and love of guitar. He is truly an inspirational, joyful and gifted teacher to groups and to individuals. We are so incredibly grateful to have had the amazing opportunity to work with him, learn from him, and jam with him!”

"Cody was our wedding troubadour. He blew our minds at our wedding on Sapelo Island (a beautiful golden island in a Georgia swamp)! He ran a Friday night bonfire sing along after our rehearsal dinner. Before our ceremony, he played soulful tunes and then instrumentals as we walked. During our ceremony he led a life changing rendition of River by Leon Bridges. We still cry when we see the video. Working with him was super fun amidst all the other wedding planning. He cared about our vision, and his talent, energy, warmth, happiness and chill vibes helped our whole wedding come together. We are forever grateful.”
